Spring Garden Workshop

This 2-Day Workshop is perfect for beginning and experienced gardeners alike. Instructor Alan LePage is a 7th generation Vermont farmer and pioneer of the organic agricultural movement.

DAY 1: BUILDING BEDS
Saturday May 13 (Rain Date May 14)
1:00pm - 5:00pm

Learn various aspects of building a vegetable or flower bed from scratch, including:
- Site Evaluation
- Pros and Cons of different methods (Double-Dig, Sheet Mulching, etc.)
- Soil structure and nutrients
- Mulching techniques
You will take part in building a garden bed and be ready to confidently build your own at home.

DAY 2: SOWING & TRANSPLANTING
Saturday May 20 (Rain Date May 21)
1:00pm - 5:00pm

Learn various aspects of starting seeds indoors and seeding directly into the ground, including:
- Tools & Materials for seed starting
- Different types of seeds (Organic, Hybrid, OP, etc.)
- Transplanting (Hardening off, transplant shock, initial care, etc.)
- Seed depth, planting schedule, etc.
- Plant protection (Row cover, insect protection, etc.)

Cost for 2-Day Workshop: Sliding scale, $75-$300
