“Children who live in an atmosphere of love and warmth, and who have around them truly good examples to imitate, are living in their proper element.”

- Rudolf Steiner

A young child approaches the world with wonder and openness. The Waldorf Early Childhood classroom seeks to nurture these gifts by surrounding the young child throughout their days with beauty, simplicity, and the marvels of the changing seasons.

At OVWS, our mixed-age early childhood programs are a truly magical experience for the small child; designed to embrace this very special time in a child’s growth, our classrooms are full of  joy, love and wholehearted nurturing.

Offering predictable daily and weekly rhythms, our days are infused with sensory and experiential activities such as art, crafting, food preparation, song, and storytelling. The young child thrives when given opportunity for creative free play, and we offer ample time both indoors and outdoors for exploration and imaginative interaction. We aim to teach respect and reverence for the natural world--and each other--through our everyday activities.
