Orchard Valley Waldorf School has a dynamic faculty and staff with a diverse mix of life and work experiences and educational backgrounds. The Grace Farm campus is located 8 miles from Montpelier, Vermont’s capital—a small town with big city amenities, including a lively arts and music scene, great restaurants, and an active community life. Our Child’s Garden and Sweet Clover Nursery campuses are both located within Montpelier.

Early Childhood Assistant Teacher (full- or part-time)
The Child’s Garden of Orchard Valley Waldorf School in Montpelier, Vermont, is seeking an Early Childhood assistant teacher for our mixed-age kindergartens serving children ages 3-6.

This candidate will have a keen interest in Waldorf educational methods, and a desire to work with a team of seasoned early childhood educators focused on the social and emotional growth of the children in their care with a strong emphasis on nature-based, outdoor activities. This may be a full- or part-time position. Responsibilities include:
* Share in the care of the children under the Class Teacher’s direction.
* Implement the Waldorf Curriculum as directed by the Class Teacher, which may include but is not limited to the following: prepare daily snack; maintain classroom cleanliness and order; participate in circle and story time and outdoor activities.
* Participate in classroom set up, cleaning and preparation at beginning of school year, and deep cleaning at end of school year (one week before and after student calendar).
* Take over the role of the teacher in his/her absence.

Qualifications
* Waldorf Early Childhood training and experience is preferred
* Vermont State PreK Teaching License is preferred
* Qualifications for an Assistant Teacher designation through the state of VT’s childcare licensing division

On the Land Assistant
Orchard Valley Waldorf School’s Grace Farm Campus is looking for an On the Land Assistant to work with elementary and middle school students and support the On the Land Lead Teacher with the tasks and activities of the On the Land Program. The On the Land program connects students with their environment through the practice of growing food, exploring the forest, caring for animals, and physically engaging their bodies through games, sit spots, exploration, and work. The assistant for the On the Land Program is responsible for helping set up for the day’s activities before students arrive, assist in the facilitation of forest and farm theme activities, lead activities with smaller groups, and assist in managing student behavior and participation.

To be considered for this position, the applicant must be able to work outside for extended periods of time in all weather conditions (rain, snow, wind, and/or cold). They must show interest in outdoor education and a willingness to learn and follow directions. They must be 18 years or older, have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of experience working with children age 6-13.

This position is for 2-3 hours per day, 5 days a week, with the potential to expand. Compensation based on experience.

Early Childhood Teachers, Sweet Clover Nursery
Sweet Clover Nursery (formerly Little Lambs Early Care Center) is seeking both full- and part-time positions. We are also looking for substitute teachers. 

Seeking candidates who are warm, nurturing, kind, and patient. Must be willing to sit on the ground, sing with children, and play outside in all weather. Candidate should have a strong work ethic, be excited to come to work, and have a love of young children. Experience in Waldorf early childhood education is appreciated, but not required. We are willing to train candidates interested in learning specific philosophies and methods of working with children. We are ideally looking for candidates who have three credits in early childhood education or child development.
