Orchard Valley Waldorf School has a dynamic faculty and staff with a diverse mix of life and work experiences and educational backgrounds. The school is located in Central Vermont, a region of rich natural beauty that offers a wide range of family-oriented and recreational opportunities. The Grace Farm campus is located 8 miles from Montpelier, Vermont’s capital—a small town with big city amenities, including a lively arts and music scene, great restaurants, and an active community life. Our Child’s Garden and Little Lambs campuses are both located within Montpelier.

We serve a wide range of families, drawing students from the Central Vermont counties of Washington, Lamoille, Caledonia, and Orange. The local chapter of the Anthroposophical Society, the Green Mountain Branch, sponsors study groups, festivals, and conferences.

Administrative Director
The OVWS Administrative Director is responsible for providing leadership, legal and regulatory oversight, logistical support and guidance, and expertise to support the day-to-day operations of the school. The Administrative Director works in close cooperation with the Board of Trustees and Governance Council. Grade 2/3 Class Teacher, Grace Farm
Orchard Valley Waldorf School in East Montpelier, Vermont, is seeking a creative and experienced teacher who is primed to lead one of our lower school classes for the 2019-20 school year. Our ideal candidate possesses teaching experience in Waldorf grades, and has completed their teacher training or is willing to enroll in a training program. This candidate would be excited to work with the growing child, have strong classroom management skills, bring inspired Waldorf teaching in a dynamic way, engage with students, work well with parents and colleagues, and have a deep passion and interest for the world around them.

Orchard Valley’s Grace Farm campus is a small, rural school set on a beautiful 55-acre campus. We follow the Bay School model, offering a full Waldorf curriculum in combined classes. Specialty classes include French, Handwork, Woodworking, and On the Land, an outdoor education program. This campus is also home to an early childhood program and we have chickens, goats, and sheep, which our students help care for.

Assistant Teacher, Child’s Garden
The Child’s Garden of Orchard Valley Waldorf School in Montpelier, Vermont, is seeking an Early Childhood assistant teacher for our mixed-age kindergarten serving children ages 3-6. This candidate will have a keen interest in Waldorf educational methods and a desire to work with a team of seasoned early childhood educators focused on the social and emotional growth of the children in their care, with a strong emphasis on nature-based, outdoor activities. This may be a full- or part-time position. Responsibilities include:
* Share in the care of the children under the Class Teacher’s direction.
* Implement the Waldorf Curriculum as directed by the Class Teacher, which may include but is not limited to the following: prepare daily snack; maintain classroom cleanliness and order; participate in circle and story time and outdoor activities.
* Participate in classroom set up, cleaning, and preparation at beginning of school year, and deep cleaning at end of school year (one week before and after student calendar).
* Take over the role of the teacher in his/her absence.

Qualifications
* Waldorf Early Childhood training and experience is preferred
* Vermont State PreK Teaching License is preferred
* Qualifications for an Assistant Teacher designation through the state of VT’s childcare licensing division

Early Childhood Teachers, Little Lambs
Little Lambs is seeking both full- and part-time positions. We are also looking for substitute teachers. 

Seeking candidates who are warm, nurturing, kind, and patient. Must be willing to sit on the ground, sing with children, and play outside in all weather. Candidate should have a strong work ethic, be excited to come to work, and have a love of young children. Experience in Waldorf early childhood education is appreciated, but not required. We are willing to train candidates interested in learning specific philosophies and methods of working with children. We are ideally looking for candidates who have three credits in early childhood education or child development.
