Monday, November 28th 6:30 – 8:30 pm
Orchard Valley Waldorf School, Grades Building
Come learn about the development of 14-21 year olds. What are the key developmental moments? What challenges do teenagers face in our time? How can we help them navigate those challenges as they move toward healthy adulthood? All are invited to learn and share their vision for supporting the 14-21 year old children of our area. The second part of our meeting we will discuss the Central VT High School Initiative (meetings are being held at Orchard Valley, Wellspring and Upper Valley Waldorf Schools). We will summarize the work that has been done so far, brainstorm new ideas, lay out some of the tasks that will be happening in the upcoming months and connect with people that are interested in working on this project from the greater Central Vermont region. In addition, please save the date – we will be meeting again on Saturday, January 21st, 1-4pm (location TBA) in order to ascertain serious interest and explore next steps. This second meeting will be in a central location so that parents from a wide geographic area will be able to attend.
Come meet Stephan Vdoviak and Lisa Damian, two experienced Waldorf educators who together have helped found three other Waldorf High Schools and are generously involved in the Central Vermont High School Initiative as members of the interim steering committee. Hear about how other school’s have come about. Learn more about adolescence and Waldorf pedagogy. And hear why Central Vermont presents a unique possibility to share the emergence of a High School between three established Waldorf grade schools.
